id like to point out that "scrofulous puppy" and the squirrel also make a good comparitive display. and they both (dog and rodent) are now in a museum collection somewhere. both are quadrupeds.
actually the puppy is not scrofulous at all* and is a vintage lassie stuffed toy from the 1950s. its face is disturbingly rendered in polystyrene, making a contrast to the mangey fur that can only be discribed as disconcerting.
mark gave me the thing. i was supposed to leave it with timmy allen in new orleans. but i couldnt. mark said if i didnt see tim, that i should just leave the horrible dog on the streets of the french quarter. and i saw tim. and he really really didnt know what the hell i was talking about when i suggested he adopt a pet. so i should have left lassie on the streets, im sure she would have been adopted readily. but i just couldnt do this either.
therefore, she will leer at me from my cars package tray. probably for a long while.
