i took the train from white river junction to bridgeport, connecticut today. there i hopped on the ferry to port jefferson, new york, where my mom, aunt, sister and nephew met me in a downpour. we drove through the tropical summer landscape of long island to my grandparent's house, now my mother's, and feasted on fresh corn. yum.
